Little bit disgusted with our Spring Break weather

I don't know why it has to rain AND snow on our spring break. It has really ruined a lot of my plans. I am working on a project and needed a new photo. So we went out anyway. By the time we were done, the baby was screaming her eyes out and it was SNOWING...again! In fact in some of these I had to clone out snowflakes.

While waiting for a session today I snapped a few of the kids. I was using a lens that haven't experimented with for a while. It was fun.

Here is one of "J". He just gets giddy when he gets his picture taken. When he saw this, he put his hand over his mouth and just giggled. What a funny kid.

She's THREE

I guess these are her official 3-year old pictures. I had it in my head that she needed a beautiful dress so somehow I found myself at the mall. That could be a blog post in and of itself. I'll give you a glimsp of how it went. When I told her what we were looking for she said, "I don't need a new dress mom, I already have one." I should have just said yes and left. I did find a dress I loved and was willing to buy and when I showed it to her she refused to entertain it because it wasn't pink. So, she got to wear this adorable shirt and jeans for her special pictures.

By the time I got to my location, the only lighting option I really had was back-lighting. I love that the grass and flowers are peaking out everywhere. Spring is so close, I can almost smell it! :)

For you lphotogs who care, I was shooting with my 85mm and tried to stay above f/2.8 because apparently my hands are not steady and practiced enough to go lower. :)

I love this kid

Parenting is hard and frequently overwhelming. I think I am usually too hard on him. As he goes out the door every morning, I pray he has the self-confidence to stand up for and believe in himself. I hope I have taught him the right so he knows how to choose. It can sometimes be stressful, but I am so glad he came to our home. He is a special kid and seems to be very respectful of which I am grateful.

I had a couple of minutes (literally) to experiment with something today and I just have to say...still lovin' this little girl.

Mine On Monday {M.O.M}

No one ever told me when becoming a mom you have to be a cake decorator, chef, home designer and nurse; that I would be up in the middle of the night cleaning up all kinds of bodily fluids and as tired as I may be, it most likely will continue in the daytime; that runny noses don't mean I am a bad mom....but most of all I had no idea how much I would love these kids and that is why I feel I have become a jack of all trades, master of none. I don't do any "MOM" skills well, but I still want to try because THEY are worth it!

Tomorrow we celebrate a birthday for a fun-loving little girl. She loves to make us happy and reminds us often when she does. We are so glad she entered our lives and she is SO excited for her birthday.

She has been begging for a princess cake. It didn't quite turn out how I wanted it, but I have a feeling she won't really notice. She will just love that it is hers and that it is pink! (Do you think it will still be standing in the morning...it looks a little tipsy!)

Part of dedicating Monday's to taking photos of my own means that sometimes it will be with my point and shoot camera. And that is the case this week.

M.O.M. {Mine On Monday}

I know it is all about "L" lately but she is such an easy target for the camera. I think this outfit, with its little ears, is ridiculously cute! :)

She's nearly 6 months.

Thanks to a new friend, Audrey, I caught some really fun pictures of nearly 6 month-old "L" today. Audrey and I connected on accident but I am so glad we did. She is amazing in so many ways. Thank you, thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge!

While one of my sisters was in town we were especially crafty and made matching aprons for our daughters. It was fun and I was surprised it turned out so cute and functional!

Idaho Go-Go-Go; "M.O.M."

It is MOM day again (Mine on Monday). It feels like everything I do lately is rushed, but I am going to post anyway. This little girl gets up everyday and wants to wear "my pinky Idaho go go go shirt". I usually have to tell her it is dirty but I did laundry on Saturday so she was thrilled to put it on again. And actually this photo doesn't show the jersey very well, but just know she is elated to be wearing it.

Pettskirt finally finished!

I have wanted a pettiskirt for almost 2 years, but they are close to $100. I ordered some fabric in November and was inspired by some friends to get it done.

This is the second one I have sewn and I would say it was much easier this time. You'll probably see a lot more of this pink ball of fluff! Hopefully there will be many more skirts in different colors...the fabric is still in the box, but I feel a little more motivated.

I love my kids!
